Brand Voice Checklist

Collect your choices in one place, then print a tidy one-page brand voice summary. This is an organizer for your own decisions, not a brand evaluation: there are no scores, grades or automated insights.

Private by design: everything stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to our server.

1 Choose 3 to 5 tone words

Pick the words that describe how you want to sound. You can add your own.

    2 Who is your audience?

At least 10 characters. Describe groups, not individual people; please do not enter anyone's personal details.

    3 What should you avoid?
      4 Preferred details

      Contractions (we're, you'll)

      Sentence style

      Humor

      Emoji

      How we address readers

How familiar our audience usually is with the topic

5 Examples from your own brand

Paste or write short lines that show your voice. Add a "sounds like us" line and, if helpful, a "not quite" line for contrast.

        6 Custom notes

Anything else: tone shifts for apologies, spelling choices, words you love. Add, edit or remove notes anytime.

          How this checklist works

The checklist simply gathers what you select and type, and arranges it into a clean summary with headings: voice words, audience, things to avoid, preferred details, examples and notes. It does not analyze your writing, compare you with other brands or suggest that one choice is better than another.

          Tips for a useful summary

          • Keep tone words to three to five so people can remember them.
          • Base choices on your best existing writing, not on another brand.
          • Add at least one "sounds like us" and one "not quite" example.
          • Share the printout with anyone who writes for you and review it every six months.
